The MainStreet Program Director will be accountable for the development, execution, and documentation of the Cardiff 101 Main Street Program. The Program Director will be a positive and energetic source for Cardiff 101 Main Street and will support the Main Street mission throughout the community. He/she will help build strong and productive working relationships with appropriate public and civic agencies at the local and state levels, and encourage a cooperative environment between residents, businesses and local public officials.
The Program Director will have flexible hours and the ability to work remotely. As such, the ideal candidate should have excellent time management skills. The role will be required to work with others. The ideal candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to mediate and negotiate and communicate respectfully.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for our community and a desire to support our local businesses and residents.
The Program Director will be responsible for the management of special events, activities, and programs as an integral foundation for downtown economic development. While many of the specific tasks may fall to the Event Coordinator, Communications Director, or Committee members organizing the event, it is understood that the Program Director will work in coordination with those involved, overseeing and ensuring tasks are completed. The Program Director will be responsible for ensuring that all required event paperwork is submitted completely, accurately and in a timely manner.
The Program Director will provide support for projects the Board of Directors deems necessary. These projects may include, but are not limited to, Networking Events, Member Appreciation Events, Art Projects, Government / Business Related Projects.
It is the Program Director’s responsibility to support the membership goals of the organization and support the Board of Directors and Communications Director in providing a high-quality member experience.
The Program Director is an advocate for Cardiff 101 Main Street, providing information and background on the goals and accomplishments of Cardiff 101 Main Street to business owners, city officials and staff and other interested persons.
Staff / Contracted Employees:
Will be responsible for the direct oversight of Cardiff 101 Main Street staff and contracted employees. This includes, but is not limited to, Communications Director and Event Coordinator. The Program Director will report directly to the Board President and Executive Board of Directors.
The Program Director will report directly to the Board President and Executive Board of Directors. The Program Director will be responsible for maintaining required Local, State and Federal licensing, registrations, and filings. Any actions needed will be researched and reported immediately to the Executive Board of Directors.
The Program Director will be responsible for administrative duties:
- Reporting income and expenses to bookkeeper
- Understanding / Tracking Grant expenditures
- Applying for and submitting Grant Applications (with assistance as needed from the Board of Directors)
- Preparing paperwork / reports for funding agencies
- Record keeping (physical and Cloud Based)
- Others as determined by the Board of Directors
The Program Director will be in attendance for all monthly board meetings. Program Director will attend monthly Committee meetings as requested or as deemed necessary by the Board of Directors.
Will be responsible for managing email, phone and other communications, and when appropriate, passing along to the appropriate party (i.e. Event Coordinator, Board President, Board Treasurer, Bookkeeper, Committee Chair, etc.)
