Roberta tirelessly strives to better Cardiff 101 and the community as she advocates, manages, coordinates and directs all activities of the organization. For two years, Roberta worked for the County of San Diego’s Third District Supervisor as the environmental policy advisor, community representative for Encinitas and grants administrator. She was the communications coordinator for the Solana Center for Environmental Innovation. She had an extraordinary career in action sports as a professional snowboarder and later as an athlete’s manager, event coordinator and video producer. In these positions, she perfected her skills in business development and management, communications, graphic design, writing, photography & social media administration. Roberta uses her past experience and connections to expand Cardiff 101’s work in sustaining social wellness, economic development and environmental programs. As a passionate environmentalist, surfer, snowboarder, yogi, cyclist, gardener and a firm believer in healthy lifestyles, she and her husband enjoy the outdoors in her free time.
MEMBER RELATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS ADVISOR
Christine brings to Cardiff 101 10 years of experience with strategic planning, nonprofit program development, fundraising and passion to make change. A Californian since 2000, Christine has extensive PR, fundraising and membership development experience working with BIOCOM and IMATA (International Marine Animal Trainers Association) as the sponsorship committee chair. As an advisor to JTF (Jonathan Tarr Foundation) and PLC-PTO Co-enrichment chair, Christine developed programs to expand reach, funds, educate and awareness. Awarded in 2015, Volunteer of the year by North County Philanthropy Council, California State Assemblywoman Marie Waldron of 75th District and City of San Diego Councilmember Chris Cate of the sixth district along with several Outstanding Service Awards from California Senator Joel Anderson for public awareness events shows her philanthropic diligence. Passionate about the environment, animals and health, including a great love for her family and the outdoors, she is dedicated to making a difference through diligence, perseverance, strategy, education, awareness and change.
CHRISTY MORTLOCK, PRESIDENT

A native of San Diego, Christy has over 15 years of experience in the Credit Union and Commercial Banking Industry. She enjoys spending quality time with her family. Christy has been serving on the Cardiff 101 Board since 2015 and in addition to her role as President is the chair of the Organization Committee.
JOSH LICHTMAN, VICE PRESIDENT
Josh is a Co-Managing Partner of Canvas Ventures, a real estate development company focusing on urban infill development and hospitality-related ventures. Prior to Canvas Ventures, Josh worked on real estate development, special projects and ABC licensing for Stone Brewing Co. He has extensive experience as an Owner’s Representative/LEED Accredited Professional developing LEED certified projects in Washington, DC and Southern California. With over 10 years of real estate development, entitlement/land use policy, project management, and green building experience, he holds a Master of Real Estate Development degree from the University of Southern California. Josh is a member of the USGBC, ULI and a board member and previous Treasurer of the Cardiff 101 Main Street Association. Josh has been serving on the Cardiff 101 Board since 2013 and in addition to his role as Vice President is a active on the Organization Committee.
SUSAN HAYES, SECRETARY

Susan is a long-standing resident of Cardiff and an active volunteer within the community. She is an art consultant representing Matthew Antichevich, the creator of the “Cardiff Kook.” Susan is a Board Member of the Friends of Cardiff-by-the-Sea Library. She has served the Cardiff 101 Board from 2005-2008 and returned in 2012. Susan has served as Cardiff 101’s President and currently serves as the chair of the Promotions Committee and is active on the Design Committee.
BILL ANDERSEN, TREASURER
Realty Income Corporation
As a native of Northern San Diego, Bill has been a resident of Cardiff since 2012. He is Senior Legal Counsel at Realty Income Corporation (RIC), a publicly traded REIT, where he advises the company on all aspects of real estate transactions. Prior to joining RIC, Bill worked as an attorney for Troutman Sanders, LLP advising clients on transactional and litigation matters. Bill graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History from College of the Holy Cross and received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California Hastings College of the Law. In his spare time, Bill enjoys surfing, barbequing, and walking around Cardiff with his family. Bill has been serving on the Cardiff 101 Board since 2015 and in addition to his role as Treasurer is active on the Promotions Committee.
Resident, Financial Advisor, Director of Business Development
Bill is a new resident to Cardiff. Bill spent his time living in various locations throughout the United States until moving back to San Diego in 2010. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego and works with the San Diego based financial planning firm, WestPac Wealth Partners. Bill and his team advise families on a variety of finance topics and focus on optimizing the financial model for executives, business owners, professional athletes and high net worth families in San Diego County, San Francisco and New York. His specialty in advanced portfolio design compliments the protection, tax and estate planning provided by his team. When not working, Bill enjoys spending time with his wife Lindsey, biking around Cardiff, and enjoying the community and culture it has to offer. His participation in the Public Leadership Institute has influenced his passion for giving back to and maintaining the community he and his wife are happy to be a part of. Bill has been serving on the Cardiff 101 Board since 2017 and is active on the Promotions Committee.
Brenda has been a Cardiff resident for more than 25 years. A real estate finance professional since 1990, she currently specializes in the residential market for RPM Mortgage. She enjoys traveling, tennis, playing on Cardiff’s beautiful beaches and spending time with her family. Brenda is passionate about making the Cardiff community amazing and has been serving on the Cardiff 101 Board since 2006, and served as President from 2010-2014. Brenda currently serves as the Chair of the Economic Development Committee and is the Cardiff 101 representative for the City of Encinitas’ Economic Development Committee.
Morgan has been a Cardiff resident for more than 35 years. He has served as Cardiff 101’s Vice President, Facade Grant Committee Chair, Organization Committee member, Design Committee member and co- liaison of the Cardiff Botanical Society/Carpentier Parkway. Morgan is the founding president of Leucadia 101 Main Street. He owns and operates The Corner Frame Shop & Leucadia Art Gallery. He has enjoyed assisting with the Arts Alive Program. Morgan has been serving on the Cardiff 101 Board since 2007 and is active on the Design Committee.
Brett Farrow Architect, Inc.
Brett is a builder, developer and licensed California architect based in Cardiff. His projects focus primarily on in-fill redevelopment in walkable areas. Currently, Brett is a design instructor and co-director of the Master’s of Real Estate Development Program for Architects at Woodbury University with involvement experience in multiple design review groups. Brett has been an active member on the Cardiff 101 Board since 2012 and currently serves as the Chair of the Design committee and is the Cardiff 101 representative on the City of Encinitas Coastal Mobility and Liveabilty Working Group.
Principle Designer of CaLa Design Group
Owner and Principle Designer of CaLa Design Group, Lauren has a Bachelors in Textile Science and Design from the University of Rhode Island and a graduate degree in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design in New York City. Lauren worked for four years at Wilson Associates, a worldwide hospitality firm in New York, on various projects such as the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach and the Ritz Carlton, Dubai. From 2009-2015, Lauren worked as a design consultant for various design firms throughout San Diego. Currently, Lauren is a partner at Cala Design Group, a commercial and residential design firm supporting all of San Diego. They recently designed the new Crack Shack in Encinitas. Lauren has been a member of the Cardiff 101 Board since 2015 and is active on the Promotions Committee.
Connie has been a resident of Cardiff for 45 years, raising her children within the Cardiff school system. Connie was a professional licensed insurance agent in Encinitas for 30 years and now devotes her time to the family business, John Stevenson Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning. She has four years of experience as a nonprofit board member. She is inspired to bring her unique insight and expertise to help Cardiff continue as the best little town to live in. Connie enjoys traveling and spending time with their adult children and seven grandchildren. Connie has been a member of the Cardiff 101 Board since 2017.
Caridff Resident, VP Plaza Home Realty
James is a native San Diegan and resident of Cardiff since 1997. James and his wife Sue raised their two daughters in the Cardiff local school system. They own residential and commercial properties in Cardiff and have a deep appreciation for all that Cardiff offers. A graduate from the University of Southern California, James specializes in real estate finance. He is the Founder and Executive Vice President of Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc. James enjoys traveling, surfing and golfing. James has been a member of the Cardiff 101 Board since 2017 and is active on the Economic Development Committee.
Former City of Encinitas Mayor
Teresa is a third-generation resident of the North Coast area. She has been an active member of the Cardiff community for over twenty years, serving on the Friends of the Cardiff Library Board and the Cardiff 101 Board. She served on the Encinitas City Council from 2006-2014 and as Mayor in 2013. Theresa was a 76th State Assembly District Woman of the Year Nominee and was recognized by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors for her dedication to the best ideals of public service. Barth is the founding president of the nonprofit Engage Encinitas. She is an advocate for the arts, urban agriculture and the environment. Teresa is active on the Promotions Committee.
