Cardiff Dog Days of Summer is hosted by Cardiff 101 Main Street and the City of Encinitas. This free event is sponsored by Kahoots and open to the public and features dog-related vendors, rescue groups, and pet adoption agencies. Activities include dog contests, live music, a libation lounge (ticketed), food trucks, and more!

The 2025 Event
Cardiff Dog Days of Summer is presented by Cardiff 101 Main Street and the City of Encinitas. This free event features numerous dog-related vendors, rescue groups, pet adoption agencies, a fun-filled dog ice cream eating contest and a lure by Swift Paws. San Diego Fire Department demonstrations will happen throughout the day. Activities include dog contests, live music, a libation lounge in partnership with The Lost Abbey, Mezo Agave, Gold Coast Mead, Burtech Family Vineyard, and Local Roots food trucks, and more!
Rescue Row: starting at 10:00 AM
“Rescue Row” is presented by the Rancho Coastal Humane Society. All Rescue Row event proceeds are donated to Rancho Coastal Humane Society whose focus is to rescue, shelter, and find homes for companion animals while promoting humane ideals through education and community outreach.
The City of Encinitas “Pet Health Expo” will be on-site providing pet micro-chipping thanks to San Diego Humane Society.
Dog Contests: Sign up day of event starting at 9 AM
Does your dog like to strut its stuff? Our popular dog contests are back! Compete in the ice cream contest and you could take home a ribbon for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place — but the best prize is definitely the ice cream itself! Winners of the other contests will receive a goodie basket filled with dog food, treats, toys, and more! Registration starts the day of the event at 9:00 AM for $10 per contest—cash or credit/debit accepted

Event Shuttle Services
To make your visit to the event as convenient as possible, we have arranged shuttle services from three designated parking locations:
Scripps Hospital - Lot C
Address: 326 Santa Fe Dr, Encinitas, CA 92024
Shuttle Pickup: The shuttle will pick up dogs and people at the entrance of the medical offices.
/2 Encinitas Community Center/ Oak Crest Middle School
Address: 1140 Oakcrest Park Dr, Encinitas, CA 92024
Shuttle Pickup: The shuttle will pick up dogs and people inside the parking lot
Shuttle Schedule:
Shuttles will run continuously throughout the event every 15 minutes to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
Additional Information:
Please follow event signage for designated shuttle pickup points.
Ensure your dogs are leashed and ready for boarding.
